About Lisa DeMario

My name is Lisa DeMario-Fromer. I'm a writer, recovery worker, facilitator, and someone who has spent most of my life learning how to turn survival into something meaningful.

Professionally, I spent years in complex auto claims handling and investigative work, where I became known for strong communication, problem solving, and staying calm under pressure. More recently, I transitioned into the recovery and behavioral health field because I realized my deeper calling was people — helping others stabilize, heal, and reconnect with themselves.

I'm also the founder of "Edge of the Middle," a discussion-based community focused on growth, integration, and honest human connection. My work and writing center around what I call "the middle" — the space between who we were and who we are becoming. I'm less interested in perfection or performance and more interested in truth, healing, accountability, and learning how to remain present in real life.

I've written several books through my imprint, Submerged Works, including Notes from the Middle and Learning to Stay. My writing is rooted in lived experience and focuses on recovery, trauma, emotional growth, spirituality, relationships, and personal integration.

Personally, I'm someone who values depth, authenticity, humor, emotional honesty, and service. I tend to connect deeply with people and naturally fall into mentoring, teaching, and encouraging roles. I'm also continuing my own healing and education journey, including trauma work and pursuing a future path in counseling and recovery support.

At the core of everything I do is a simple belief: people heal best when they feel seen, safe, challenged honestly, and loved without performance.
